Modern cars mostly use flat-blade keys, transponder fobs, or a mix of both, and the entry method depends on the door and the car, not a single trick that works on everything. We use long-reach tools and air wedges built for the job — not a coat hanger, not a slim-jim jammed into the frame — because the fastest way to turn a $150 problem into a $1,500 one is to damage the weatherstripping or the lock rod on the way in.

Car lockouts: what people ask before they call
Will you damage my car getting in?
We use air wedges and long-reach tools made for this, not a coat hanger or a metal strip forced into the frame. Most vehicles open with no visible mark. We won't promise zero risk on every make and model sight unseen, but destructive entry is the exception here, not the method.
What proof do I need to show?
Your driver's license and the vehicle's registration or insurance card with your name on it. If the car isn't registered to you — a rental, a family member's car — have the renter or owner reachable by phone.
My key fob is inside but the door isn't locked with a physical key. Can you still help?
Yes. Most fob-based cars still have a mechanical door release built in, or a manual override once we're inside; we know where to find it on the vehicles we work on regularly. If yours is unusual, we'll say so on the phone before we come out.
The key is broken in the ignition, not locked outside the car. Is that the same service?
No — that's broken key extraction, a different technique from a standard lockout. Mention it when you call and we'll bring the right tools the first time. See broken key extraction for details.
Do you cover motorcycles or work vans?
Often, but not always — it depends on the lock mechanism. Tell us the make and model when you call and we'll confirm before dispatching anyone.
